George A. Gleason

George A. Gleason passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Osceola Memorial Hospital, Kissimmee, Fla. He was 101.

Born in Bristol Borough, son of the late Harry and Mary (Kelly) Gleason, he was a Croydon resident most of his life, moving to Florida in 2003. Mr. Gleason was the owner/operator of Gleason's Market at the corner of State and Cedar Avenue in Croydon for 45 years. He was a member of the Croydon Kiwanis, a fourth degree member of the Pope Pius the XII Council Knights of Columbus and an honorary life member of Croydon Fire Co.

Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Ennis) Gleason, he is survived by three daughters, Margaret M. Butler of Kissimmee, Fla., Regina G. Ricketts of South Bend, Ind., and Eleanor Sassani and her husband, Jack of Croydon. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Margaret Bruse, James Butler, William Butler (Debbie), Regina Groebin (Gifford), Lawrence Ricketts Jr. (Nealy), Maria Lester (Derik) and Anthony Sassani (Sarah), 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Croydon. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
