Harry J. McGuckin Sr.

Harry J. McGuckin Sr. passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80.

Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Harry and Cecilia Cieslinski McGuckin, he had been a resident of Bristol and Croydon most of his life. Mr. McGuckin was employed as a Business Agent for the Philadelphia Carpenters Union Local 1462, retiring after many years of service.

He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Croydon, an active member of the Men of Malvern, and The Seasoned Travelers. Mr. McGuckin loved to camp and was instrumental working with the Carpenters Union to help restore the Delaware Canal Lagoon in Bristol Borough. He most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, June E. Heath McGuckin; his son, Harry J. McGuckin; and his brother, Robert McGuckin.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandy J. Okumu and her husband, Billy, and three grandchildren, Robert, Daniel and Caprice McGuckin. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald McGuckin, and his sister, Ruth Ann Losco.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough, where friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
